I recorded the first half of this album for a live set that I played for a Hausu Mountain-hosted stream in May 2021, and I recorded the second half as an alternate version of a live set I played for an event that my friends put on in July 2021. Both of these sessions are live takes with the Roland SP-404 sampler as the only sound source, using a library of samples I recorded from my synths and drum machines as the material to combine into live takes. The separation between the initial process of loading up the sampler with sounds from my instruments and the actual performance results in music that I hear as a time-capsule, all stitched together into a sort of final recital that culls from a long timeline of recorded performances. Some major influences that informed this whole project were Tetsu Inoue's fast-scrolling ambient works, Yasunori Mitsuda's soundtracks for Chrono Cross & Chrono Trigger, the music of Pulse Emitter in all its forms, and the glitch production touchstones laid out by artists like Oval and Nobukazu Takemura.
